We’re celebrating 40 years of building affordable homes in Lancaster and Lebanon together this year! Over the past 40 years, Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity has built hundreds of safe and affordable homes and positively impacted thousands of lives, and we couldn’t have done it without support from our volunteers and donors.
So to celebrate the community’s commitment to our mission we’re setting aside National Volunteer Week (April 19-25) for our “40 for 40” volunteering and fundraising challenge.
There are three ways to participate:
- Volunteering during National Volunteer Week (April 19-25). Gather a group to serve together at one of our construction sites or at our Lancaster Habitat ReStore to collectively volunteer for a total of 40 hours. (A team of five can accomplish this – and make a big impact – in just one eight-hour shift!) We’ll have construction opportunities from April 22-25 in Columbia and Lebanon, and we’ll have shifts at our Lancaster Habitat ReStore from April 21-25.
- Volunteer anytime throughout April. If all the shifts are full before you’re able to sign up, don’t worry. We’re celebrating volunteers for the entire month of April. We’ll gladly work with you to find opportunities that suit your team. Don’t have a team? No problem. We’re happy to connect you with like-minded volunteers and you can make some new friends or you can volunteer individually to accumulate 40 hours over the course of April. - 40 for 40 Fundraising Option. Can’t volunteer in April or want to make an even bigger impact? From April 19-25 only, you can make a donation of $40 – or stack your 40s to make an even greater impact – to honor our 40 year-history and support the next 40 years of building affordable homes.
