Omyra and her two children lived in a cramped one-bedroom apartment in Lebanon. To make room for her ailing mother, Omyra slept in the attic, but only when it was not too hot or too cold, which it often was. She knew she needed more space, but couldn’t afford the rental costs of a bigger apartment. Through her partnership with Habitat, she now owns a home that is less than what she previously paid in rent. What’s more, she can also save money, support her mother’s medical treatments and plan for her children’s education.
